- Home Occupation Permits regulate business activities within
a residence in
a residential district.
- Home Occupations are allowed by permit in all residential districts.
All permitted Home Occupations function within the following guidelines:
- The occupation must be conducted within the principal or main building on
the lot. In other words, you may not conduct the business out of your
garage.
- The occupation may not alter the residential character of the
neighborhood.
- No on street parking is allowed that is associated with the business
activity.
- One business sign, permit required, is to be no larger than one square
foot.
- No more than two customers at a time are permitted.
- You cannot sell goods that are not the product of your own handiwork. Any
type of business that is more retail associated rather than service oriented
is not allowed.
- There shall be no exterior of storage of materials or other
exterior indications of the home occupation or variation from the
residential character of the principal building. No person outside the
family shall be employed as part of the home occupation.
- Any commercial vehicles greater than one ton are not
permitted to be maintained in a residential district.
You can only have one home occupation.
