COVID-19 Update (5/14)

As Westmoreland County enters the “Yellow Phase” of recovery the following operational changes are effective Friday, May 15, 2020:

  • The Town House will be open to the public for business.
    • Masks or face coverings must be worn in the building.
    • Social distancing guidance must be followed. (waiting lines have been marked)
    • The individual department areas will remain locked to the public.
    • Public Meetings will resume following CDC and DOH guidance
    • Non-Township meetings will not be permitted during this phase.
    • The Tax Office is remaining closed to in-person business.
    • The Township will adhere to the current sanitization guidance.
  • The Parks restrooms will be opened.
    • The parks fields remain closed to organized activities.
    • The play structures remain closed during the yellow phase.

We ask that you consider limiting personal visitation to the Town House and other public facilities to necessary business.  All township staff may be reached by calling 724-863-3806 and key email addresses are listed on our web site

To ensure that the information that you receive in regard to this pandemic, we will not be posting edited material from other agencies.  We encourage you to visit the websites of the CDC and the PA Department of Health directly for your information.  These are the key sources that the NHT is using for information and direction.

The Township of North Huntingdon is monitoring the pandemic emergency and has a business continuity plan in place.  Any major local announcements will be made via our social media, nixle alerts, news media outlets and web site posting.
