The PA Fish & Boat Commission’s Southwestern PA Educational Specialist who covers 10 counties will join North Huntingdon Township in celebrating Parks & Recreation month this week with a FREE family fishing program at Indian Lake Park on Thursday, July 22 from 6pm-8pm.

Pre-registration is required and can be found at https://www.register-ed.com/programs/pennsylvania/191-sport-fishing.  Spaces are limited.

No license is needed to participate and for further information please register through the link provided.

The “Introduction To Fishing Meet-Up” is for men, women, children and seniors. The program is geared for families with little or no fishing experience. Participants learn how to be a SMART angler (safety, manners, appreciating clean water, releasing, and teaching others) and how to cast (with practice casting plugs on land), tie fishing knots, and rig their fishing rod. We also go over regulations.

In the remainder of the time, participants are able to fish together with all of the equipment and bait provided and those 16 or older do not need a fishing license during that time.  All fish caught are released.
