Board of Commissioners
The Board of Commissioners of North Huntingdon Township serves as the legislative body, setting policy, enacting ordinances and resolutions, adopting budgets and levying taxes. They are elected to four year terms. Commissioners hear complaints and ideas concerning Township affairs and act as an agent for Township citizens and represent the communal interest.

Civil Service Board
The Civil Service Board provides for equitable testing for all entry level and promotional job opportunities in the Police Department.

The role of the Board is to hear appeals related to the Township's Building Ordinance.

NHTMA
North Huntingdon Township Municipal Authority (NHTMA) manages the sanitary sewage system of the Township insuring sewage capacity for future development and rehabilitation of older areas.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission reviews plans for future development, proposes changes to zoning classifications, and updates and implements the Township's Comprehensive Plan.

Recreation Board
The Recreation Advisory Board is responsible for recommending recreational programs and events to the Board of Commissioners and the Department of Parks and Recreation.

WWMA
The Western Westmoreland Municipal Authority (WWMA) manages the Brush Creek sanitary sewage treatment plant located in the Township, insuring sewage capacity for future development.

The Zoning Hearing Board reviews and rules on variance requests and hears appeals related to the Township's Zoning Ordinance.
