Residents are allowed to commence outdoor burning in the Township as long as you follow all of the regulations set forth in our burning ordinance and obtain a burning permit, if applicable.
Open Burning
- Open burning can occur 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays-Saturdays, excluding holidays and requires a permit.
Burning in an Approved Container (burn barrel, firepit, etc.)
- Burning in an approved container can occur Wednesday-Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and does not require a permit.
Recreational Fires
- Recreational fires do not require a permit and can occur between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. Recreational fires must be extinguished by 1:00 a.m.
Otherwise, a burning permit is required and can be applied for at the police station. The permit issued is a one-time permit only for the day(s) requested.
